Things look a bit bleak from where I'm sitting but there is some good news in the world. Indiana's Republican Governor Mike Pence announced that he would expand Medicaid coverage for the working poor in that state. The plan involves a waiver from the feds that allows for premiums and other departures from the traditional program. Still, it means that up to 350,000 residents of that state may eventually gain care. The number of states have have embraced this basic measure of humanity now stands at 28, plus the District of Columbia.
Days like this, I"ll take what I can get.
